Optional Website Measurement and Advertising
The Cookies control at the bottom of public pages lets you separately allow website totals, Google Analytics and Meta advertising. All three are optional. Google and Meta scripts do not load before you opt into the corresponding purpose. Previous permission for website totals does not opt you into Google or Meta.
Website totals are daily counts of public page views, successful quote requests and phone/email link clicks, stored with our website hosting provider without a visitor profile. Google Analytics uses cookies and device information to help us understand those same activities. Meta Pixel uses cookies and device information to measure advertising and support relevant advertising. These providers receive connection information, such as your IP address and browser information, when their tools load. Meta may associate activity with information it already holds about you.
Our measurement events do not include your name, email, phone number, address, form answers, payment information or customer account IDs. Automatic form tracking and advanced customer matching are disabled. Optional tracking is excluded from checkout, account and staff pages. We also skip third-party tracking on URLs containing query strings or fragments. Google advertising personalization is disabled.
Your choices are stored in this browser for up to 180 days. You can withdraw or change them through Cookies. Withdrawal stops future optional tracking and clears our optional analytics and advertising cookies where accessible; it does not erase information already received by a provider. Google and Meta may process information outside Canada under their own policies. Read Google’s privacy policy and Meta’s privacy policy for their retention, controls and privacy rights.
Necessary storage for requests, sign-in and account security works independently. Ordinary hosting and security logs may still be processed to operate and protect the website. Declining optional tracking does not affect quotes or service.
Our Privacy Commitment
One Less Thing Dog Waste Removal is a small Ontario service business. We handle personal information in a way that reflects the fair information principles underlying Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Information We Collect
When you submit the Get Started form, we collect your name, email address, phone number, service address, service preferences, dog count, yard details, preferred timing and any optional message you provide. After submitting, you may optionally share pet names, types, breeds, ages and notes so our team can get to know your household. You can skip those details without affecting your quote request. Pet details are stored with your request and may be included in your customer record in Stripe. Please do not include payment details or sensitive personal information in these notes. We may also keep service-related correspondence and details needed to arrange visits.
Why We Collect It
We use this information to respond to your request, confirm whether we serve your address, prepare a quote, arrange and provide service, communicate about scheduled visits, maintain appropriate business records and meet legal obligations. We do not add you to unrelated marketing lists through the Get Started form.
Consent and Limiting Collection
By submitting a service request, you authorize us to contact you about that request. We collect only the information reasonably needed for the purposes described here. You may withdraw consent for future use, subject to legal or contractual limits.
How Information Is Protected
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate for a small business, including limiting access to people who need the information for business purposes and using secured systems for website form submissions. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely risk-free.
When Information May Be Disclosed
We do not sell personal information. Information may be shared with service providers who help operate the website or business, only as needed for those services and subject to appropriate safeguards. We may also disclose information when required by law, to respond to a lawful request, or to protect rights, safety or property.
Retention
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, to maintain business and tax records, or to meet legal requirements. When information is no longer needed, it is deleted, destroyed or anonymized where practical.
Access and Correction
You may ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you. We may need to verify your identity before responding. Some lawful exceptions may apply, and we will explain them if relevant.
Referral Details
If you choose to identify a friend who referred you on your secure checkout page, we collect their name and phone number to match the correct customer account and administer eligible referral credits. Please provide these details only with your friend’s permission. Customer account searches are available only to our authorized team, not to visitors. Confirmed referral references may be stored with customer records in Stripe.
